My paintings are inspired by everyday things, found, hoarded or worn with use. Favourite china, shoes, old photographs and toys. I am interested in the ability of objects and clothing to encapsulate memories.

WHAT ARTISTS DO ALL DAY

I’m very busy this week finishing off some watercolours and getting everything framed up ready for my Christmas exhibition at Hobbs House Bakery in Nailsworth. I love showing my work in Cafes it gets a much bigger audience and people have time to really look at the paintings whilst they are drinking their coffee.https://www.hobbshousebakery.co.uk/pages/hobbs-house-bakery-in-nailsworthhttps://www.hobbshousebakery.co.uk/pages/hobbs-house-bakery-in-nailsworthMariettes_Blog/Mariettes_Blog.htmlshapeimage_5_link_0shapeimage_5_link_1

HOMEMAKER

Oil on Linen

Painted in 2003

I ran 25 workshops last year with a total of 165 workshoppers turning up to paint. So it’s a big thank you to everyone who came along and helped to make that little twist in my painting career into a great success. In 2017 I’m planning more of the same, starting out with a Valentine’s watercolour workshop and then Spring workshops, ‘Eggs and Feathers’ and ‘A Spring Bunch’. I’m just sorting out venues and dates and I’ll let you know soon!Mariettes_Blog/Mariettes_Blog.html
